Black Creed

When the muscles shrivel

Drooling like a drivel

What then minstrel?

When the eyes go dim

Dark like a black film

Can you walk at whim?

When the head swivels

And the legs droop

Faint to walk the friendly troop

When love grows numb

And the tongue goes dumb

And life chimes not in crescendo

Would your stars shine in sinister innuendo?

When death beckons

Her fangs reaching forth tenaciously

When she sweeps over the Orion in floods

When she caresses the soul lovingly

And you cannot resist her seduction

Will you be eclipsed in death’s suction?

Or you will rise in resurrection?

Will you transcend her gaze thick as sun?

Alive with elixir of youth

You who stood on tenets of truth

Emerge like the proverbial Phoenix

It’s a rejuvenation! It’s a re-mix!

This is indeed the truth

Life transcends death

For the just death is dead in death

For scoundrels death is ad infinitum

Every smile a touch of red

On life’s death bed

Every well-kept friend

Every good deed

All cloaks of white are

That adorn like regal garment

And makes the beyond bright

SouthGate

SouthGate

I hear thumps of hastened footsteps
And the scintillating beat of excited dames

I hear the bellow of Captain Trump
Marshalling this megaton troop

I see resolute men approaching the SouthGate
Putting off number seven, and picking up number eight

And I can overhear Captain Trump saying
“Great” is the response as into “eight” you have your passing

“All shall be well” is the motto
“All is well” even in the grotto

Beyond Southgate lies treasures untold
Greater treasures finer than gold

With Captain Trump the troop
Shall reach the rank: glorious troupe
